The Soup Sandwich

Can you think of anything more fucked up?

It’s been a minute

It has been several months since I wrote here like I promised myself I would. The last post I made was about Brielle’s 13th Birthday party out at the beach. What is so wild is we left the beach and two days later, Pensacola was drenched in a foot of SNOW!!!!! No, seriously… we got a foot of snow in the Panhandle of Florida. This was January 20th & It was M A G I C A L.

I unfortunately didn’t get to experience it with Brielle, because it was her dad’s week, but it was Spencer’s first-time seeing snow and that was a fun first to have with him. He wasn’t so sure of it at first, as I think it gave him “snow blindness”. but once we put some sunglasses on that green eyed boy, he had a blast playing in the snow.

The snow hung around for several days. We made snowmen, snow angels and I even stuck my whole face in the snow as a tiktok live challenge. I can’t remember exactly how many likes I wanted on my live stream in order for me to stick my poor little face in the snow, but I do remember that my nephew, Jude is the one who got it to the point I wanted it. SOOOO, I did it. I stuck my face straight into the snow and held it there as long as I could. It was like a cold plunge for my face. Oddly enough, I enjoyed it.

This “Historical Snow” was all our town could talk about for a while. It really was a once in a lifetime experience for us Floridians. We have never had a snow like this before. We had seen ice and sleet before, but there has never been a time where it sat on the ground in inches, for days! it shut the whole town down for 3 or 4 days. It was something out of a movie, and definitely something I will never forget.

I have a lot of events to catch up on, on this blog. So, be prepared to read some “old news” until I catch back up. My goal is to write weekly & I really hope I stick to it.

Thanks for reading ❤
